I’ve always liked a good schedule.
Sometimes I like schedules a little too much. I’m the type of person that, once the schedule is made, I feel I must make the deadline. Normally, this is a good thing, but lately, I’ve felt rushed in my writing.
I’ve published two books a year for the past few years, A Farseen Chronicles book every spring and a Finding Earth book every fall. I also participate in a book every year with my writing guild with the proceeds going to various non-profits. This year that’s going to change. For various reasons that I won’t go into, I simply can’t make my self-imposed deadline. So, I’m changing my schedule.
There. I said it. I’m retired. I write and publish because I enjoy the process. If I’m not having fun, I’m doing something wrong. To get back to the fun of writing, I’m not publishing a Finding Earth book in 2019. I’m not dropping the series, but the book still needs some work and I don’t want to knowingly publish less than my best.
I’m going to focus on the next in the Farseen Chronicles series and publish it on time in the spring of 2020. This is important because it’s book 7. Prized is Val’s story, and I promised people it would be available then. Book 7 is also the final full length novel in the Farseen Chronicles series
Look for The Caves of Kurazi, book 3 in the Finding Earth series, in the fall of 2020.
