It was a nothing hike. At the last minute, on a beautiful winter afternoon, I took short hike through my neighborhood. I’m lucky because my neighborhood weaves through a few ponds, and I’m within a mile of a park that has some beautiful natural paths.
I don’t mind the occasional walk on a paved trail, but there’s something about a path with roots and rocks under your feet. The feeling of being away from the crowd surrounded by nature. Nothing improves my writing focus like a hike to clear away the cobwebs, even if the hike is only a couple of miles in my own back yard.
