October is Domestic Violence Awareness month. Last week I dressed up and attended an event near Winston-Salem called Black and Bling. Yes, it was fun. Halloween attire was optional, but I do like to ‘dress’ for Halloween events.
Black and Bling 2017 was an outdoor event and included a haunted house tour, band, magician, psychic, intuitive card reader, storytellers, drum circle, and more. But the real reason for the event was to raise money for Forsyth Family Services, Safe Relationships Division, and the Sarah Browder Memorial Fund.
The goal: to raise awareness and prevent domestic violence by educating individuals who reside in Forsyth and surrounding counties of North Carolina. The Black and Bling event is dedicated to the memory of Sarah Virginia Carr Browder, a victim of domestic violence.
Mail-in donations can still be sent to Forsyth Family Services (memo line Sarah Browder Memorial Fund), 1200 S. Broad Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
