Just as I finished the 2015 fifty book reading challenge (pause for applause), I saw this post from Writerish Ramblings, Let’s Talk NaNoWriMo. I had heard a little about National Novel Writing Month last November but didn’t pay much attention. This time I did. The premiss is that you write every day starting November 1st with the goal of having 50K words written in your novel by November 30th, that translates to 1,667 words a day. Sounds impossible with the day job and life in general, so naturally I’ve signed up. Based on my fantasy novels, 50K will get half a novel first draft (I’m suspecting very draft), but it sounds like the kind of challenge I like.
I don’t like to do things halfway so I’m creating a new world, Cetus Landing. Yep, not only will I start writing on 11/1/2015, I have to create my world. Let the good times roll.
Head to NaNoWriMo if the thought interests you. I signed up as Taviar in the challenge so look me up if you head that way.
